What Causes Acid Taste In Mouth, Muscle Weakness And Hot Flashes?

I have these occurrences where I begin to have an acid taste in my mouth followed by a period of extreme overall weakness and feel very hot. They usually last from 30 seconds to 2 minutes. I may months without them and then, just in the past 24 hours I ve had 6 of these occurrences. A year ago last month, I passed out completely and transported to an ER. I had one there and the detected absolutely nothing changing in my vitals. What could these be????

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Acid taste in mouth may be due to regurgitation of acid from stomach to mouth in a condition called GERD (gastro esophageal reflux disease). This condition can be managed well with medicines well.

Passing out episode may not be related to this condition unless you aspirated some of the contents from stomach into lungs. I would advise you to get yourself further investigated if not already done to rule out any other condition which led to the episode of passing out and rule out heart, brain or any other systemic disease.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
