General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query to H C M .
Since you are having acute gastritis , nausea and feel to vomit.
All these symptoms may be due to hiatus hernia , diagnosis can be confirmed by upper G I endoscopy.
Try raising the head of your bed about 4 inches with blocks.
It also might help to avoid eating or drinking for two hours before you lie down.
To help control stomach acid one should not drink alcohol or drinks with caffeine in them or eat chocolates or greasy or spicy food .
Also take some antacid but if these symptoms are severe , you may need drugs like PPI i.e. pantoprazole+domperidone , once in day .
2nd reason of such symptoms may be anxiety or stress or tension , so avoid .
Over eating may be the next cause .
Hope this will help you .
Good luck.
