What Causes Acute Pain In Neck, Arm And Fingers After Insect Bites?

At 3 am a bite on my neck that felt like a knife stabbing me. I reached back with left hand to pull off. Now, my hand fingers arm and neck are extremely painful. needles and pins crawling up my left up to my elbow. The fingers and hand feel like a hammer pounded on them. neck still stiff with same feeling. poison control thinks it was a scorpion, what do u think and how long do symtoms last, ant see any bite marks, fingers swollen

The symptoms you mentioned are indicating allergic reaction in response to insect bite. It usually takes few days to resolve completely. If i were your treating doctor then i would have advised following things:

- cetirizine one at night for 5 days
- wash/change bedding thoroughly.

Report to hospital if:
> Condition remain same after 2-3 days
> Any unusual symptom appears
> Condition deteriorates.
> There is difficulty in breathing.
