What Causes Acute Pain In Pelvic Area And Right Leg Post Vaginal Hysterectomy?
Having acute pain right pelvic area also runs down right leg. I had vaginal hysterectomy with ovaries remaining. This was done 4 weeks ago. I week ago had severe bleeding and clots. Went to ER with DX of hematoma at the vaginal cuff. I have been doing fine until today. Acute pain started this afternoon and getting worse. Slight fever of 100.0
hi thank you for asking your concern madam and welcome to hcm. from the above description this looks like a pelvic infection which may be caused by post hysterectomy secondary infection or intra pelvic hematoma or a new pelvic infection or urinary tract infection. few things you can do by your own press lower abdomen and see whether pain increases or not, see whether burning urination is there, see if you feel intense pain on pressing calf muscles and if fever is with some chills or rigors then it is an infection. source of infection may vary. if any of the above signs are there i would strongly suggest to meet your surgeon and consult him. you will need hemogram and urine test and if any abnormality is there you have to take antibiotics. if you feel any doubt please ask regards dr. abhijit
