What Causes Acute Pain In The Left Side Of The Face?

i have acute pain in the left side of my face, involving ear pain, jaw pain very sensitive to the touch on neck between ear and jaw and lower neck left side problems chewing, this has been coming on over the pat few weeks and has reached the acute pain level i am planning a trip to canada today and am wondering if i can find someone on this Sunday Morning August 6th to see me, (severe pain in left side of face starting with the er and going down thru jaw --very sensitive to touch surface of face below ear) frank a. wood jr 4102 Hermitage /road Richmond, Virginia 23227 804-334-6957 frankcfi6@aol,cim

Thanks for the query..

The symptoms that you have explained are pointing towards nerve related pain that is Trigeminal Neuralgia..

As it is the nerve of the face the affected side becomes painful with bouts of electric shock like pain..

So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated so that they can do necessary investigations like MRI Scan..

In case of Trigeminal Neuralgia you can be advised neurotic painkillers like Carbamazipine, Gabapantin, Baclofen etc..
