What Causes Aggressive And Antisocial Behaviour In A Teenager?

My son is Russian::adopted when he was 10 months.started fighting authority, getting in trouble at school, refused to study, got in trouble with the law and started drugs at 12 . He is bright but lazy is 19 and not in college. He seems to sabotage everything he does . I feel he has attachment disorder and feels he was rejected by his birth mother and can t get over it. We know. Nothing about the birth father. He has been shooting heroin and is in his second rehab program.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi there.
I can understand that you are worried.
Attachment indeed plays a big role in the development of a child and poor attachement can lead to the personality features you are describing. First symptoms of Oppositional Defiant disorder and now antisocial personality traits.
There could also possibly be a family history of a mental illness that you are unaware of.
