What Causes Allergic Itching After Consuming Salty Food Items?

I m not sure if I m allergic to salty food in general. Random areas like my eyes, ears, mouth, back, wrists start itching and i get huge pimples which fade away after a day. It looks similar to the pimples you get when you get bitten by a mosquito. I ate popcorn and chips tonight and now my whole back and shoulders are itching.

Hello,

I think you are suffering from an allergic reaction to a food or drug or substance.

I don't believe it is salt because it is normally found in our body. I think you may be allergic to substance found in chips and popcorn such butter for example.

You can try to identify it and don't take anymore. The prick tests done by allergy doctor can determine which is the substance causing this allergic reaction.

You can take antihistamines such Benadryl or Cetirizine for itching and rush.

If it becomes worse and faces become swollen you can go to ER for epinephrine and prednisone injections.
