What Causes Allergic Raction To Paracetamol?
Hi Doc, My son is now 16 years old, He is allergic to all paracetamol drugs when taken orally except through injection and rectum (anus). The allergic reactions occur within 10 -15 minutes when taken and are as follows; swollen face and eye, at one stage it goes as far as the throat and blocked of the air ways where he was put on oxygen. As per your history, it may be due to drug allergy.
In that case, avoid this tablet. You can take alternative medicine.
Till then you can give him a tab. claritin. Apply calamine lotion locally.
Kindly watch for symptoms like lip swelling, breathing difficulties.
