Hi,

Rash that is over more then 30 percent of body is called erythroderma and it need urgent medical advice as it can lead to dehydration , infection , and many more complications.

The causes may be many, like allergic reaction, eczema, psoriasis, drug rash, autoimmune like SLE, but it always need evaluation and assessment. So he must be seen by a dermatologist and this should be done on emergency basis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
