What Causes Altered Shape Of Toe Nails Post Chemotherapy?

Yes. I had 8 rounds of Chemo 3 years ago and I lost most of my toe nails. But they came back. they came back in very poor shape. cracked, thick, yellow and just over all bad looking.. Is there anything that I could do to get them back into shape?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

I recommend taking zinc and iron supplements to help improve your nails. Consulting with a dermatologist in order to exclude a possible fungal infection is necessary. You should know that a fungal infection, may lead to yellow, thick and poor shaped nails.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
