What Causes Amenorrhea Along With Hair Loss And Facial Swelling?

I am 20 years old and since age 16 my periods have become completely absent. I got facial hair on my side burns and a little bit of swelling in my face, and increased hair loss. I have been to the gP so many times and they say it s okay it s not a problem as many women don t get thier period and they did hormones test and a ultra sound where there was a small cyst found but it was nothing serious. The hormone test was normal so I don t know what is going on with?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Firstly, I would like to know several answers from you:

1. How frequently you urination occurs?
2. What is your weight?
3. Do you feel cold more often or easily when others are not feeling?
4. How is your bowel movement?
5. Do you see blur or normal? Is there any change in vision?

I would like to give some tests:

1. Complete Blood tests
2. Urine analysis
3. Cranial CT
4. Serum FSH, LH, TESTOSTERONE, ESTRADIOL
5. Thyroid Function Tests (TSH, T3, T4)
6. Serum Cortisol, Sodium.

These tests are vital and a doctor may give you the most appropriate treatment based on these tests results.

Although, you can apply oils for Hair Loss but the treatment that will be given to you after the test results, will actually give you relief.

Do not worry. Now I will not give any medicine. Because the treatment that will be given to you, all are hormones. So, without being confident, we should not give you hormonal drugs.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
