General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* As per my clinical experience, the Nexplanon is an intrauterine device consisting of Etonorgestrel hormone which prevents ovulation from the ovary along with changes in uterine epithelia and cervical mucus.

* The amenorrhea is secondary to hormone changes from IUD and not because of pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
