Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! For the past 5 days I have been smelling smoke and gasoline nonstop. I am not a smoker, but this smell is now making me nauseous. I am very concerned as I am also experiencing headaches sporadically, as well. I started taking Gabapentin capsules 400 mg pee night for about 2 weeks prior to this phantom smell starting. I was taking that for Restless Leg Syndrome but have stopped taking it altogether now since I am experiencing this problem.

What Causes An Altered Sense Of Smell And Nausea?
Hello, If symptoms persist, better to consult a neurologist and plan for an MRI brain to rule out possible intracranial (inside the brain) causes. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
