Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI. I went to an ENT two days ago to have wax removed from my ears. He scraped it out and everything seemed fine. Last night my ear started hurting and today it s hurting a more. I am also noticing my hearing is a little off. Could he have damaged my ear drum?
Hello I have read through your question and would like to tell you that a mild earache is normal after cleaning of ear. It will subside in one or two days. You can take Tylenol to alleviate the pain. But if the earache increase s, or you feel any problems in hearing or see any ear discharge you should visit your ENT and get yourself checked. There is a chance that your tympanic membrane or external ear may have been injured. It can only be confirmed after an otoscopic examination. I hope that answers your question. If you have any further questions please feel free to write. Thank you for choosing healthcare magic.
