Hello,

more tests than the ones you've mentioned are required for a complete assessment of your situation. A high SGPT level without cholestatic enzymes (ALP, gamma-GT) or with much lower elevations of those enzymes usually indicates liver damage.

You should be checked for - at least - the following:
- bilirubin (total and direct)
- serum total proteins and albumin and SPEP (serum protein electrophoresis) to check for various autoimmune and hematologic disorders
- antinuclear antibodies to check for disorders like autoimmune hepatitis
- a careful review of any drugs or supplements you may use or any toxic substance you may be exposed to.

If the aforementioned tests fail to reveal any useful clue then further investigation for Wilson's disease, hemochromatosis and other not so common causes would be required.

If no disorder can be diagnosed still, then follow-up testing and if the tests continue to be abnormal (without a diagnosis) then a biopsy will have to be considered; it's not always necessary though.

I hope you find this information helpful!
Kind regards!
