Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently was in hospital. They were trying to slow my heart rate. The cardiologist later put a pacemaker in and according to medical records it was for bradycardia. Now when they place the pacemaker on active I cannot walk 15 ft without my heart rate going to 120 bpm, my oxygen drops to low 80 - 70%. Could being treated for bradycardia instead of tachycardia be my problem. The cardiologist nor (electro?) will talk to me anymore. Perhaps because I got angry the third time they put me on active and two times wound up in the emergency room.
We will try to help you in the best way possible. First of all it's sad to know what you had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, you need to have holter monitoring and electrophysiological studies for the origin of the abnormal rhythm of the heart that you have been experiencing lately and management will depend on that.
If saturation is Low and you are experiencing abnormalities in heartbeat at this moment you need to immediately consult a nearby health facility ER so that it can be medically cardioverted or controlled.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
