Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been taking adderall for years now. My pulse has always been high but recently it has been extremely high. After I take my prescribed adderall I feel as though my heart is racing and bounding in my chest. Some times I find I can t get words out and stutter and it s like I just zone out and can t process any information. My fingers and toes also tend to get numb but I have been chalking that up to reynauds. I ve also been getting headaches, profuse, sweating, TMJ. I also feel as though I m hyper aware of all of my movements and tend to get OCD tendencies while taking it(I will repeatedly run my hands through my hair until the area starts to thin) I only get these symptoms while taking adderall. I need to know if these symptoms warrant a trip to the ER and if these are normal side effects? My pulse resting is 90-100 walking around is 120-140
Hello, If you cannot get in to see your doctor today, then yes you should go to Emergency. You are probably on too much Adderall, but there may be other problems as well. You need an exam, blood tests and an electrocardiogram. See a doctor today. Regards
