What Causes An Extreme Thirst And Frequent Urination?

My husband has been experiencing excessive thirst and frequent urination. He is typically very healthy and active. I wonder what could be going on here. He is up about every 2 hrs at night to urinate and is constantly thirsty during the day. Any thoughts?

Hello dear Greetings
Regarding your husband symptoms frequent urination and excessive thirst I am suggesting that he has developed the following differential diagnosis

Benign prostate hyperplasia
Diabetes melitus
Diabetes insipidus
Urinary tract infection
Acute prostatitis

In view of this please let him do the following test
Serum PSA
URINE CULTURE
Fasting blood sugar
Serum ADH level

Meanwhile please see an urologist specialist with the results and for expect clinical evaluation as well as adequate drug prescription
