General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, it can swollen blood vessel if it changes its size but any underlying growth or subcutaneous cyst or lipoma need to be ruled out. I suggest baseline work up with inflammatory markers and vasculitis screening with ANA.

Ultrasound of the lesion may be helpful after careful examination by a dermatologist or a surgeon. Biopsy may be needed if other work up is unremarkable. Wishing her a speedy recovery. Regards
I find this answer helpful
