Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby is the 27 days old. For past 6 days he s been continuously grunting and groaning throughout the day. He does this with his hands and legs bent towards his belly, arching his neck and back. he also is distressed and cries and he does this to pass gas or sometimes even to poop. and he does this throughout the day. Is this gas pain or acid reflux or colic pain can you please suggest
This pain may be related to gas. He is not able to pass gas properly. If he only on breastfed, then ask his mother, not to eat anything unpleasant or difficult to digest. I would advise her to take light food which can be easily digested. And if your infant on formula milk, it can be cause of gas in his small stomach. Discontinue it. However check it with pediatrician, he can suggest you some medicines and a good alternative of formula milk.
Thanks Dr. Tripat Mehta
