What Causes An Inflamed Welt On The Hand?
I removed a weed from a hanging basket and immediately after touching the weed with my arm it started burning. A burning welted rash broke out within minutes and I still have the burning sensation on my arm after three hours. I examined the weed and it had little yellow spots under the leaves.

I believe you had an allergic reaction to the weed. I can recommend you to take antihistamines such as Benadryl or Cetirizine. Use ice over it. Disinfect the wound with betadine because it may get infected.
