Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes An Itchy Mole With Fluid Discharge In The Lower Abdomen?
I have a mole that has changed in color an texture it has become very itchy in the last month i was itching the skin directly around the mole which is on my lower abdomen. I must of itched the mole itself a clear liquid with a very foul odor came from the mole is there anything you can tell me about this?
I would suggest you see a GP immediately, as the mole need to be examined in person. Any change in color, size, shape, and feel of a mole can be an initial step towards developing skin cancer. In the past few decades, skin cancer cases have increased substantially, and we have to be pro-active to get diagnosed early.
At the GP, the extent of your mole will be noted and if needed biopsy will be taken to evaluate. Till you get to a GP, kindly refrain from itching or touching the area. Always remember skin cancer can appear on any part of your body not just exposed areas like face and limbs, and sun protection with sunscreen or clothing must be used.
Hope I have answered the question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ayesha Shareef,
General & Family Physician
