Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes An Itchy Rash On The Knee When Diagnosed With Lichen Planus?
I have a rash that started on my knee, very itchy then turned black. I also have the rash all over torso and arms. Starts red then turns dark. Was told it was Lichen Planus but a second opinion said it was not. Now no diagnosis did one steroid shot but keeps coming in new areas.
It may be atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, infection, scabies, dermatitis herpetidiformis etc. Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is.
Use moisturex cream locally twice a day for five days. Avoid lactose and gluten contain food. Use tablet Atarax twice a day for five days.
Eat green leafy vegetables and fruits. If symptoms don't improve, please consult your doctor, he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care.
Regards,
