Hallow Dear,
The description of your symptom clearly suggests that you have caught some infection after the delivery. We call it as post partum infection. This infection is causing such a foul smelling discharge.
Instead of starting any antibiotics like
Ciprofloxacin of your own, I would advise you to report to your Obstetrician for appropriate treatment.
Ultrasonography will reveal whether any tissue or product of conception is left in the
uterine cavity. The possibility of
vaginal infection also cannot be ignored.
I feel, you should undergo culture and sensitivity of the discharge which will identify the organisms causing infection and the antibiotics to which they are sensitive. This will facilitate use of the appropriate antibiotics.
With antibiotics your infection will be controlled no doubt; however, you have to be very careful during next
pregnancy since this infection could have rendered the Caesarean scar rather weak. So please defer your next pregnancy for at least three years and let the scar heal nicely. Then also, during the next pregnancy, please inform your Obstetrician about this post-Caesarean infection so that he/she will keep a close watch on your uterine scar by ultrasonography. Any pain in the lower abdomen during your next pregnancy should be immediately informed to the Obstetrician. Due to this infection, the chances of Caesarean delivery next time increase considerably.
I hope you got the message.
