I am on the birth control Mirena the 5 year plan and about a month ago I was diagnosed with genital herpes but never had an out break. With me being on the Mirena and having Herpes, could it cause any issues with my body? Also what causes an outbreak for Herpes?

Mirena and herpes does not have any relation based on evidence studies. Hormonal changes, like those that occur in the menstrual cycle, can affect genital herpes outbreaks. Surgery, weak immune system can also influence in herpes outbreaks.
