What Causes An Yellowish Fluid Filled Blister On The Toe?
is there a charge for this service? my husband has been working at a camp all week and last night saw a blister on his toe. the toe does not hurt. he does not feel like he rubbed it to cause the blister. this morning it was as small as it was last night. now it is doubled in size. it does not hurt. he want to pop it. I m saying not to do that. honestly, it does not look like any of the blisters on the healthline.com site (blisters: 18 causes, photos and treatments) except for the blisters from frost bite...large and filled with a translucent slightly yellowish fluid.
First of all, it's sad to know what your husband had been going through lately.
Based on the history you have shared, it can be due to excessive walking or rub against footwear but less likely if any dislodged hair followed by hair follicle infection which may be infective.
If it's painless, it may resolve in a day or two. Don't try to prick it or scratch it, and if it itches OTC analgesics like acetaminophen or Ibuprofen along with antihistamines like cetirizine or loratadine may be used for symptomatic relief.
Local or oral antibiotics may not be needed at this moment. If accompanied with fever may need to be reviewed for antibiotics and surgical review for incision and drainage.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
