Hello, Yesterday I took a plan b one step pill and experiences blood in my urine the same day. Today I have experienced bleeding through the anus, and it was a lot. No more blood in the urine though. I ve taken the pill plenty of times before and this has never happened to me. There is no pain, it s just bleeding. Should I be worried? Or is it just a side affect of the pill?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Plan B is an emergency contraceptive pill. It needs to be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse to prevent unwanted or unplanned pregnancy. The pill would offer protection by causing withdrawal bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of intake of pill. Experiencing bleeding per rectum could be due to side effect of the pill. Since such drugs are hormonal preparations, it might have caused constipation and caused bleeding. Kindly increase your intake of fluids and consume diet rich in fibres. Also, it is advisable to consume soft and easily digestible diet for few more days. You may take laxatives like Isabgol Powder Psyllium Husk in case you need it. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
