Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I broke my ankle almost 1 year ago and have complained about my ankle still hurting. It is starting to affect my sleep and I have noticed that my ankle looks bruised and I know have black under my tonail are these symptons related and should I see a Dr.
All these symptoms are indicating that there are still problems with the affected areas. There may be not healed fracture with a compromise of vascularity causing black toenails. Hence I would advise you the following: Consult an Orthopedic Surgeon for clinical examination. MRI with angiography of the affected areas. These will give an appropriate diagnosis and thus a plan for proper management. Till then give complete rest to the affected ankle. Stop smoking if you are doing this. Take therapeutic dosages of calcium and Vitamin D.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
