Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Ants On Bed And In Dress With Bed Wetting Problem?
My son has a bed wetting problem. He is 7 years old and recently I have noticed ants by his bed. I wash his blankets daily. But i find ants in his bed. One evening he went in his room to put back on a pair of shorts he was wearing earlier and the shorts were covered in ants. He did boy pee in the shorts. Should I get him tested?
I have gone through your question and I will try my best to give a satisfactory answer.
The ants around your son's urine although not confirmatory but do arose a suspicion of juvenile diabetes. If I were your son's treating physician I would like to know a detailed history such as increased urination, increased thirst, recent weight loss despite of eating adequately, history of diabetes on maternal or paternal side. Also I would like to run some tests such as random and fasting blood sugar levels, oral glucose tolerance tests and HbA1c.
I would suggest you consult your local physician for your son , for a detailed clinical evaluation and further treatment accordingly.
I hope this answers your question . Please feel free to contact HCM again in case you have any concerns. Wishing you and your son good health.
