Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My baby is 3 weeks old. It has been about 2 weeks that she has a rash around her anus only. There are elevated, red, inflamed bumps around the anus. She is breastfed and has very frequent stools. I change her diaper at least 10x a day. For the past week I have tried a cortisone/clotrimazole combination cream, no improvement. I stopped putting the zinc ointments. Any suggestions? Can something in my breast milk be causing this problem?
Hi.. This can be just plain nappy rash or candidates with or without bacterial infection.. You can continue the same treatment but most important is to keep area dry and open to air.. Use rash free ointment after each motion.. Try to keep baby in lateral position.. Minimal use of steroids.. U may consult pediatrician.. Thanks
