What Causes Anxiety After Taking Clonazepam?

I am taking two prescription drugs, Pristiq and clonazepam. My doctor prescribed me Clonazepam because I couldn t sleep after my daughter had thyroid cancer. I want to stop taking Clonazepam because I started feeling to anxious and I think that there is some interaction.

Hi,

Even though Clonazepam is used to treat anxiety, it can cause nervousness and emotional changes. I think your idea of stopping it is reasonable to see if these symptoms resolve.

Clonazepam is a longer-acting benzodiazepine, so you shouldn't have as much trouble with stopping it, though your doctor may want to gradually take you off it if you've been taking it for a long time. You should, of course, notify your doctor that you would like to stop it.
