I SUFFER FROM EPLIPSEY. I USE HERBAL MEDICATION AND ITS BEEN HELPFUL COZ FROM 2005 I HAD SEISURES ONLY THIS JANUARY (2010). THE PROBLEM IS AS SOON AS I THINK OF THE WORD EPLEPSY I FEEL LIKE I WILL HAVE A SEISURE. AND SOMETIMES I WAKE JUST TO FIND MY HEART BEATING SO FAST AND AT THE SAME TIME FEELING LIKE IAM GOING TO FIT. THE LAST TIME I CHECKED MY BLOOD PRESSURE WAS FINE. I LIVE IN FEAR AND IAM TIRED OF IT.I LIVE IN AFRICA AND I CANT AFFORD QUALITY MEDICATION BCOZ ITS EXPENSIV TO GO ABROAD WERE THE PRIVELEGED ARE REFERD WHEN HAVING SAME CONDITION.PLEASE HELP
You have seizure disorder and are on herbal medicines for that. Your seizures are currently under control but you have complaints of anxiety and restlessness on thinking about seizure. You have complaints like you will develop seizure and have severe anticipatory anxiety about seizures. Such complaints are commonly seen in individuals with some serious medical concerns. I would advise you to try relaxation exercises like Progressive Muscle Relaxation (JPMR) exercise, Breathing Exercises, Yoga etc to keep yourself relaxed. Such relaxation training will result in improvement of symptoms in events of anxiety.
As per my opinion there is no need to take anti-anxiety medicines regularly but you can visit a psychiatrist or PCP for anxiety medicines that can be used in severe anxiety situations on PRN basis. Medicines like Propranolol, or low dose benzodiazepines like Clonazepam can be used. These medicines will help to reduce your anxiety in events of severe anxiety.
