What Causes Anxiety And Fatigue After Taking Lexapro?

Hello , I am taking 10 mg of Lexapro each morning, I feel tired and need to rest regularly during the day. I still seem to be anxious & frustitated with myself. Have column of work to complete in a short period of time. Can you advise me if best to take at night or morning. My weight is 56 kg if that has any bearing on my outcome of tiredness. Thank you Ag

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Lexapro is Escitalopram and the drug is one of commonly used antidepressant drugs. In most of individuals the drug cause slight insomnia and this is the reason the drug is advised to be taken in morning hours. But in few individuals the drug can cause slight drowsiness and sedation and may cause fatigue, tiredness and drowsiness in individuals who take the drug in morning hours. You have symptoms like tiredness, anxiety, frustration etc even with this drug. In my opinion these are persisting symptoms of your anxiety and depression and need evaluation by your doctor again. These symptoms have nothing to do with the timing of drug in my opinion. Medicines like Modafinil, Armodafinil can be utilised for these symptoms. These drugs will increase alertness and motivation and you should feel better. Continue to use Lexapro as your prescription and visit your doctor for prescription of the drugs I have mentioned.
