What Causes Aphasia And Slurred Speech?
just got back from vacation with an old friend and she seems to be having speech difficulty. She has now got a very soft voice and slurs her speech. Difficult to understand. Kind of mumbling and as if her mouth is dry also. She said her husband is mean and says she sounds like she is talking through pebbles in her mouth. That is not a bad analogy.

Seems to be in relation with involvement of the motor region of speech in Broca's area or other cranial nerve pathways. Systemic evaluation with the neurologist is mandatory for the same.
