Loss of appetite is a common complaint of most of the patients after major surgery. It occurs because of
anesthesia and side effects prevail for quite some time.
As patients recover post-surgery their appetite returns to normal & they eat quite well.
Loss of appetite can be due to
anxiety, pain/discomfort, toilet & mobility problems. However, she should take nutritious food for better & faster recovery.
Give her small amount of food frequently like yogurt, scrambled eggs, soft bread, cornflakes, nuts, fruits, beans, protein & vitamin supplements so that tendon & ligament repair are faster.
