What Causes Appetite Loss And Grey Discoloration On The Skin?
I am a 60 year old male, I had what I thought was the flu a week ago & it lasted for a week. I was feeling better & returned to work last week. I am all of a sudden feeling sick again, my appetite has gone away. My wife is telling me my skin looks very grey. Could I be getting the flu all over again?
Loss of appetite in elderly can be a sign of malignancy (cancer). Grayish discoloration of skin may occur in the following conditions :
1) Late stage of renal failure.
2) Late stage of any cancer.
3) Congestive heart failure.
4) Hemochromatosis.
5) Treatment with drugs like Amiodarone, Clofazimine to those who come to my clinic, with similar symptoms, I thoroughly examine them and if necessary order some investigations to rule out malignancies. So, please do consult a physician and report your symptoms.
Hope my answer is clear and understandable. Any further queries are welcome. I'm always here to address your concerns. Thank you for the query
Take care
Regards,
