What Causes Appetite Loss And Low Blood Pressure Levels?

My mom is 85 years old and has dementia. We went for a dr visit yesterday and the dr. wanted her to increase he dosage of donepezil from 5mg to 1omg. she has loss of appetite but my main concern is that her blood pressure is lower than it should be. She is usually normal at 120/80. Her bp tonight is 95/65????

Hi,

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com

I understand your concern.

At the age of your mother, and especially when not getting enough food and liquids, blood pressure (bp) tends to get reduced.

So, do not panic for this bp. Just encourage her to keep on eating a little and especially keep drinking water or juice (can use oral rehydration salts) at least.

All the best.
