What Causes Appetite Loss, Headache, Dizziness, Nausea And Lower Back Pain?

Hi, Looking for a bit of advice whether this is something or nothing. For the past four days I ve had no appetite, been feeling constantly nauseous but have not been sick. I also feel constantly hungry but begin to feel even worse if I do eat something. I have a very powerful headache on the top of my forehead that only slightly dulls when I use paracetemol or ibuprofen, very immense pain between my shoulders and in the middle of my lower back both areas heat up immensely and go bright red then back to normal colour but with cold, clammy skin and still hurt and are tender to touch. I get very warm and feel a little dizzy and then half an hour later I m freezing cold but still sweating. My upper arms, thighs, ankles and feet also hurt immensly. Massaging the tender areas helps relieve the aching but only for five or so minutes. I only have a headache when I first wake up but within twenty minutes of being awake all symptoms return. Napping through the days does not help nor does eating/drinking water it makes me feel worse. My symptoms seem to be getting worse everyday and I m not sure what to do.

Hello,

Headache associated with nausea is commonly symptom of migraine or tension headache. Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, pollution, smoke, dust, etc. Stay away from oily, junk food. Take home made nutritious food in time and take adequate rest. Dehydration triggers headache, stay adequately hydrated, take water, soups, juice, warm beverage that you like. Avoid stress and anxiety at all cost.

Since you have symptoms of body ache, hypothermia from time to time and discomfort it may be indicative of some viral infection, influenzas, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get CBC, blood tests for Widal, MP, CRP, liver function tests, blood sugar (F/PP), urinalysis, etc done to detect the pathology. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, take PPI's, antacids or digestives to stimulate appetite, acetaminophen, one SOS to relieve pain. Take multivitamin supplements.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
