What Causes Arm Pain And Tingling Sensation In The Fingers?

Hi, I have suffered from lower back pain for many years and have been diagnosed with Sciatica, stenosis, degenerative discs, etc. Within the last 5 months I started having pain in my left arm which radiated down into my fingers and caused numbness and tingling. My Dr ordered a cervical MRI and I will be seeing a neurologist next week. My question is this...ever since the arm pain started, my back pain has subsided greatly. Is this normal. This does not make sense to me. The issues in my lower back certainly have not gone away but why am I not experiencing the symptoms that I was prior to this new issue?

Yes, your issues of your lower back have not gone away. Now that you are having problems with your right upper limb, your attention is mostly drawn to it, and with the mind focused on the present problems away from your back, the pain back seems to have reduced. When you see the Neurologist, please inform him regarding both your right upper limb and low back pain. He can then advise you correctly on the management.
