Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Arm Pain That Radiates To The Back And Chest?
i get pain in one arm or the other (sometimes both) that radiate through my back, chest, neck and head. these episodes usually don t last longer than 20 minutes. my hands get numb and my jaw gets sore. first time this happened i thought i was having a heart attack but that wasn t the case. i m 60 years old and work on a computer all day. thinking it could be pinched nerve but not sure.
The ideal thing to do would be to go for a complete cardiac evaluation with ECG, ECHO and TMT. If all investigations are normal, then visit an orthopedic doctor to rule spinal nerve compression.
Don't sit in front of the computer for prolonged periods, take frequent breaks, walk around etc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Divya Kuttikrishnan,
General & Family Physician
