What Causes Asymptotic Thyroid Swelling With Elevated TSH Levels?

Hi! My grandmother is 78 year old and informed her GP with a small asymptomatic thyroid swelling. Blood analysis revealed her TSH concentration was 37mlU/L and her serum free thyroxine was 5.4pm/L. Her serum anti thyroid peroxidise (antiTPO) was 600kU/L. Ultrasonography of the neck showed diffuse hypoechoic enlargement of the thyroid gland with no retrosternal enlargement. I just wanted to know the exact disease. We are concern and cant wait to find out. Please Help ! Thanks!
