What Causes Atrial Fibrillation After Chemotherapy?

had 3 rounds of chemo with cat 11 years ago, no return of stage 3 breast cancer, but have just been diagnosed with atrial fib. can this be related to the a drug in chemo. they had recommended 6 rounds of chemo, but started having heart symptoms after 3 and stopped chemo there. declined chest wall radiation also. thank you for any information. regards, arlene

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Atrial fibrillation is probably not associated with chemotherapy.
There are certain chemotherapeutic agents which can cause cardiac side effects, however, atrial fibrillation is not one of them.
I suggest you to take treatment for atrial fibrilation and stay in touch with your cardiologist.
You can resume with your chemotherapy cycles under supervision of your radiotherapist.
