Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband woke up this morning with his right arm hurting from the shoulder to the fingertips. When he sat up, he was extremely dizzy. the dizziness lasted off and on for several hours, but the arm pain has continued all day. He has taken Aleve x2 today. These are new symptoms. He had an episode of Atrial Flutter about a month ago and has been on Coumadin in addition to his Blood pressure meds.
As per my clinical experience, the Aleve is not responsible for the development of atrial fluter. It was the onset of cardiac event which shown up with arm pain continuous day and for which the Aleve was consumed. As he is on blood thinner, immediate assessment for the thrombo embolic episode is to be ruled out at an ER and cardiac assessment with an EKG is best needed therapeutic approach.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
