What Causes Audio Hallucinations Despite Taking Clonitrol For Rise In Pulse Rate?

due to illness, i was in extreme worry, suddenly my pulse rate got raised and had severe headache episodes for almost 20 days, later i visited my physician he advised me to take thyroid test to rule out, thyroid test was negative, he suggested me to take tab anxit 0.25 mg and seblium 5mg during night only, later i visited psyciatrist in lakeside. he suggested me to take clonitrol 0.25 mg 1/4 3 times and censipram 5 mg and indreal now after taking it for 4 weeks now he has raised the duration for 8 weeks. my question is now my anxiety and stress is better how long i should take this medicines, sometime i have audio hallucinations whether it is related with anxiety or the medicines what i am taking, i have often deep breathes and scalp irritation, whether the audio hallucination is related to tinnitus because sometimes i feel ear irritation and i tend to use buds. please do suggest me when to stop the medicines how long it takes to cure and get rid of this and how to determine i am out of this symptoms. regards lokesh

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

All your symptoms seem related to anxiety and depression mixed. If you are feeling better with the treatment you are taking, then you are advised to continue it as advised by your doctor. Any anti-anxiety or anti-depressive is not to be stopped abruptly.

These are gradually tapered off depending on the condition of the patient, till completely weaning off the drug, if possible. All your symptoms including audio-hallucinations seem due to anxiety/depression and not due to medicines you are taking. However, any change in the medicine or their doses etc. should be done only under guidance of your doctor.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
