What Causes Autonomic Dysfunction After Eating?

I have autonomic dysfunction and my life is ruined by this. I went to a specialist doctor but he said just sit up more and I would get better, I have been sitting up for about 5 minutes 6 times a day but I have been fainting more & my symptoms have only got worse; especially after eating. He refused to try any medication, what can I do? Please help me, my GP doesn t know what to do & I am just being left to suffer

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, you need to have baseline work up for such symptoms.

This include endocrine and metabolic causes evaluation. Also Holter monitoring and echocardiogram and postural drop evaluation may be needed. An endocrinologist or electrophysiologist review may be needed.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
