What Causes Back And Neck Ache After A Cortisone Injection?
I had a cortisone injection in my right shoulder and 3 days later started having spine pain. Now the spine pain has turned into all over pain in my torso. My ribs, collar bone, back, everything hurts, even to the touch. I had an Mri and bloodwork done and everything came back normal. Could this be a reaction from the cortisone? If so what can I do? The pain is so bad. I havent worked.
Hello You received a cortisone injection in the shoulder joint ( hydrocortisone acetate ) , most probably for joint inflammation . Now after three day you are having pain virtually all over body . This type of pain may be due to these reasons , these include: 1 Arthritis may aggravated ( shoulder joint inflammation for which injection was used ) . Diagnosis can be confirmed by blood examination for c b c ( usually there will leucocytosis ) E S R ( if very high i.e. elevated > 50 -60 mm 1st hours suggest some chronic infection ). 2 Suppurative inflammation in shoulder joint due to any reason causes septicemia . In my opinion at once consult an orthopedic surgeon and get his opinion as physical examination is very important . Till take aceclofinac 200 mg C R for temporary relief. Hope this will help you.
