What Causes Back Pain And Heavy Bleeding?

Has my period a week ago. Now experience bad back pain under the ribs. Middle of back. Just started bleeding again today. Very dark and clotty. Could the back pain and bleeding be related? I am a 30 yr old currently not taking birth control but unable to get pregnant due to husband infertility and my PCOS
