What Causes Back Pain And Throbbing In Heart While Having Hypertension/heart Disease?
my husband is complaining of lower back pain. He states it throbs as his heart beats. He has difficulty describing the pain, but states it does not radiate.
He is 26 years old, 6'1" and about 210lbs. He has HTN (takes cozaar 100mg qd). He has hx of heart disease (his father died in early 60's of massive heart attack. His older brother died in early 30's of cardiac arrest in his sleep).

After reading the details i can very well understand your concern. As there is a strong family history of heart disease and he is a Hypertensive also all your worries are genuine. But dont worry with proper precautions and good medical supervision he will be all fine.
Now what i want you to do is that you take his to a cardiologist and get a ECG, ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY and a HOLTER monitoring done. All these test will help to rule out an obvious heart abnormality which if left undetected can later be an issue.
And also he is a HYPERTENSIVE you should make sure that he should exercise daily take low dietary salt, avoid saturated fat diet and DO NOT SMOKE. And be very regular with the meds prescribed by doctor.
