I understand your concern and I will do everything I can to answer your question. A little spotting and back pain are common in the beginning of the pregnancy and usually don't mean the pregnancy is in danger. The spotting usually stops on its' own with no ill effects on the pregnancy. Doing an ultrasound every 2 to 3 weeks to make sure the pregnancy is growing is a normal precaution. When the heartbeat can be seen (usually when the sac gets to about 2 cm) that is an excellent sign the pregnancy is healthy and will continue without problems. Try not to worry: many women feel none of the typical pregnancy symptoms. Whether or not you experience nausea, vomiting, breast fullness etc. (and many women with healthy babies never feel any of these: no one knows why) the ultrasound is the only way to know how the pregnancy is doing.
I hope that helps and best of luck to you
