What Causes Back Pain Before Menstruation And Heavy Bleeding After A Tubectomy?

I had my tubes removed a few months ago and had a period right after that was not very heavy. Over the last week I have had the heaviest period I have had in years that I was on Birth control. Before the period started and now, my back has been hurting and I am having trouble having easy bowel movements (seems to be tied to my back). Just wondering if I should be worried.

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello,

Back ache before periods can occur as a part of pre-menstrual syndrome. Heavy periods can occur due to hormonal imbalance. However, I suggest you to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, get a pelvic ultrasound and hormonal assessment if required for management.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri, Pathologist and Microbiologist
